Nathan Daniel Shannon

Nathan D. Shannon (PhD, Vrije University, Amsterdam) merupakan adjunct professor bidang Apologetika dan Teologi Sistematik dan associate director Kurikulum dan Penilaian Global di Westminster Theological Seminary, Glenside, Pennsylvania. Ia merupakan penulis buku Absolute Person and Moral Experience (Bloomsbury 2022), Shalom and the Ethics of Belief (PickWick 2015), dan berbagai artikel di The Scottish Journal of Theology, Westminster Theological Journal, Mission Studies, Feminist Theology, Neue Zeitschrift für Systematische Theologie und Religionsphilosophie, dan jurnal-jurnal lainnya. Abstrak

Artikel ini mengkaji hubungan antara apologetika dan khotbah di dalam tiga khotbah oleh rasul Petrus dan Paulus, dan menemukan bahwa, bagi para rasul, apologetika dan khotbah bukanlah disiplin yang terpisah melainkan komponen yang tidak terpisahkan dan saling bergantung dalam pelayanan Injil dan kehidupan gereja. Dengan mengambil khotbah apostolik sebagai paradigma bagi pelayanan dan kehidupan Kristen saat ini, makalah ini berargumen bagi kembalinya pemahaman organik ini, yaitu di satu sisi mengenai apologetika yang bertujuan menuju dan mengikuti struktur pewartaan Injil, dan di sisi lain mengenai khotbah yang menampilkan pembelaan mengenai keberadaan Tuhan untuk melawan ketidakpercayaan dalam berbagai bentuknya.
