Misi Bait Semesta sebagai Kerangka Teologi Alkitabiah untuk Menanggapi Sekularisme menurut Taksonomi Charles Taylor

Misi kekristenan global menghadapi konteks sekularisme yang menyebar luas dan menghadirkan berbagai tantangan dan peluang yang memerlukan keterlibatan teologis yang kuat. Charles M. Taylor mengelompokkan tiga definisi sekularisme: (1) pemisahan antara wilayah yang sakral dan yang duniawi, tetapi agama dipandang aksiomatik; (2) penurunan kemelekatan agamawi di ruang publik yang diklaim netral; dan (3) kejamakan pilihan yang tersedia bagi manusia untuk mengonstruksi makna kehidupan dan keberadaan agama hanyalah salah satu opsi di antara banyaknya pilihan. Dengan demikian, bagaimana teologi biblika dapat menanggapi ketiga bentuk sekularisme dalam taksonomi yang diajukan Taylor? Artikel ini mengajukan suatu misi bait semesta sebagai kerangka teologi alkitabiah untuk menanggapi tantangan-tantangan dalam masing-masing definisi sekularitas menurut Taylor. Dengan menggunakan eksegesis intertekstual-tematis, artikel ini menganalisis motif biblika tentang Eden dan Yerusalem Baru yang membingkai metanarasi Alkitab. Berbagai kaitan intertekstual antara Eden, Yerusalem Baru, dan Bait Suci menunjuk kepada tempat kediaman Allah di antara umat-Nya. Teologi biblika bait semesta ini mengimplikasikan suatu teologi misi, yakni untuk memperluas tempat kudus Allah mulai dari Eden (Kej. 2) dan akan dirampungkan di Yerusalem Baru yang meliputi keseluruhan kosmos (Why. 21-22). Teologi bait semesta menyediakan kerangka kerja alkitabiah yang menyeluruh untuk misi kristiani dan menawarkan berbagai tanggapan terhadap masing-masing definisi sekularisme Taylor.
