Memikirkan Kembali Misi Trinitaris : Perspektif Lesslie Newbigin Dan Johan Herman Bavinck

Abstrak

Artikel ini merupakan tinjauan terhadap pemikiran Lesslie Newbigin dan Johan Herman Bavinck dalam memikirkan basis Trinitas terhadap teologi misi. Kedua misionaris ini sepakat untuk melandasi misi berdasarkan doktrin Trinitas. Misi yang didasarkan pada doktrin Trinitas adalah misi yang tidak membedakan antara Injil dan keadilan sosial atau “perkataan” dan “perbuatan”. Ada berbagai alasan dan aspek yang ditemukan dalam perspektif Newbigin dan Bavinck terhadap betapa pentingnya doktrin Trinitas terhadap misi. Kedua tokoh ini memiliki persamaan yakni percaya misi yang didasarkan pada kerangka Trinitas dapat menjawab tantangan maupun hambatan di ladang misi. Bila meninjau perbedaan di antara kedua tokoh ini, Newbigin menyimpulkan bahwa basis teologi misi yang tepat harus dilandasi Allah Tritunggal berdasarkan pergumulan dalam pelayanan misi dan keikutsertaan dalam organisasi IMC-WCC. Sedangkan bagi Bavinck penting untuk menyelidiki ke dalam Alkitab terlebih dahulu untuk memperoleh kesimpulan bahwa misi harus dilandasi Allah Tritunggal.
